Formation of a new department including headcount planning, bill-of-materials with cost and weight determinations, engineering development from surface creation phase till tool-ready CAD completion for commodities like hard/soft trims (I/P, center console, door panels, carpets, luggage compartment) as well as full-service-supplier commodities like seats, restraints, interior lights, headliner, inside mirror and sunvisor; package integration in vehicle environment

Supplier pool creation, supplier-chain proposals and active role in supplier sourcing; agreeing vehicle level targets with departments like NVH, DMU, functional safety, quality, manufacturing, logistics

Establishing craftsmanship targets; setting up component virtual and physical validation plans; ensuring ergonomics checks are completed and analyzed; leading failure mode avoidance (FMEA, CC/SC) activities; performing benchmarking activities and setting up product targets

Setting up technical scope of work and personnel needs; defining structural, occupant safety, pedestrian protection, high-voltage component targets with respect to UN, EU, Euro NCAP requirements; positioning vehicle targets regarding low/high speed including insurance rating estimations

Creating CAE quality handbook for future programs; creating technical design guidelines for system components like curtain airbag, passenger airbag, seats; defining clearance zones for CAD development; establishing virtual and physical safety validation plans

Supplier research, engineering scope creation for RFQ, cost analysis, negotiations and implementation of a PLM/PDM system for the first time in the company

Implementation of homologation requirement database for all employees

Implementation of vehicle benchmarking database for all employees

Creation of common engineering deliverables for engineering service provider RFQs for other engineering departments

Supporting recruitment of a new CTO by conducting technical interviews

Supporting establishment of complete vehicle timing plan by creating unique proposals
