Windows/Linux Consultant - Strengthening Cybersecurity

I have professional IT experience since 1991 (and have been working with computers in general since 1982). After a few years as a system engineer employed at an IT system house, I have been a full-time freelancer/self-employed since 2004.

I have extensive knowledge of Windows (from Windows 3.1 onward) and Linux (in recent years focused on Debian and Ubuntu and their derivatives, but also RedHat, CentOS, and to a lesser extent SLES). In various data centers, I primarily set up server and client infrastructures and provided user support as needed. I have also gained a lot of experience with various tools (e.g., ticket systems) and methodologies (e.g., ITIL) in modern IT.

Other focal points are monitoring (including visualizations; since 1999) of system environments, mostly with Nagios, checkmk, and Icinga (1 and 2), as well as virtualization (various vendors and solutions – e.g., VMWare, Proxmox). I really enjoy working with alternative, possibly unfamiliar, heterogeneous environments.
