Freelance Translator and Interpreter

• Permanent position at ZF Getriebe GmbH from 1973 to 1982. Interpreted meetings with Peugeot/FR and the development department of ZF Getriebe GmbH in Saarbrücken during my tenure from 1973 to 1982.

I also conducted factory tours in French for customers and suppliers and explained the various machining processes (machining of torque converter housings, transmission cases, and control unit housings made of aluminum die-cast), control unit assembly, and the transmission test bench. Translated meeting minutes, warranty claims, and technical test reports.

• Permanent position at Jagenberg AG from 1984 to 1988. Translated user manuals for machines (rollers, coaters, cross-cutters, folding carton gluing machines, labeling machines) and interpreted during contract negotiations.

Since 1992, self-employed as a translator/interpreter and sales representative. Since starting my freelance career, I have repeatedly worked for clients in precision turned parts (including for medical applications in prenatal surgery (micro bone screws)) in French-speaking Switzerland.

From 1992 until the end of 2018, I worked for a French company in gear manufacturing. Besides acquiring customers in the German market, I interpreted during customer visits and contract negotiations and gained extensive knowledge in soft and hard machining, heat treatment, grinding burn and magnetic particle inspection, and of course gear technology.
