Senior People Business Partner - Business Area

Context:

  • Hired as the first person in the company dedicated to HR to build stable and scalable HR processes and grow the HR department in all its different sub-teams.
  • Accompanied the growth of the company from 45 to 150+ employees and the growth of the HR department from 1 to 9 employees (POM, L&D, BP) while operating as the most senior HR representative within the company during entire employment.
  • Headquartered in Berlin, EOR staff in EMEA + APAC, hybrid work setup, 15 local labor laws.
  • Reporting to co-founder/CEO.

People Operations Management:

  • Design and administrate the employee lifecycle for global remote EOR and Germany-based employees, ensure compliance with local labor laws and occupational health and safety, maintain HRIS, contract-, document-, and absence management.
  • Perform pre-payroll for 150+ HC, provide reporting and analysis for finance + investors.
  • Immigration + visa/work permit applications, relocation procedures.
  • Lead and facilitate two rounds of layoffs.
  • Manage a team of People Operations Manager.

Business Partnering:

  • Partner with and advise 21 people managers (TL to VP-/C-level and co-founders), the TA and L+D team.
  • Conceptualize and execute the people strategy for the business unit to deliver targeted impact on org. design and development.
  • Shape the feedback culture at Lendis, design and host 10 'Performance and Growth Cycles' across the organization.
  • Foster future-focused leadership skills at Lendis, e.g. host 'Leadership Bootcamp' to coach first-time people managers.
  • Be a sparring partner for the C-level in organizational comms.
  • Facilitate quarterly 'Heartbeat Survey' and respective employee engagement + retention insights/actions, conduct comp & ben strategies and HR analytics.

People Operations Management:

  • Craft and manage the employee lifecycle (e.g. *boarding processes, contract-, document-, and absence management, HRIS, labor law and occupational health and safety compliance). For example, onboarded a HC of 100 Customer Service (CS) employees by myself in Q1 +Q2 2017.
  • Lead and facilitate the company-wide monthly 2-day onboarding event ‘Welcome Days’, 56 participants in peak month.
  • Lead pre-payroll for 450+ HC, operational reporting for Finance.
  • Maintain the virtual share pool, conduct regular company-wide trainings, implement a virtual share tool, provide reports to investors, C-level and external auditors.
  • Manage a team of HR working students and interns.
  • Immigration + visa/work permit applications, relocation processes.

Business Partnering:

  • Partner with and advise 10 people managers and workforce management of the CS department (Associate TL to Head of CS).
  • Conduct a set of training sessions for people managers of CS, e.g. labor law, working time act, virtual share program, payroll, ...
  • Accomplish performance and feedback cycles and TD for CS.
  • Execute multiple employee engagement and retention measures across CS, help drive a +200% increase in tenure of staff YTY.
