Management of an IT project as part of a strategic corporate project for fiber optic expansion and marketing. Collection of business requirements from both sales and commercial areas as well as from technical construction areas. Conducting requirements workshops with business departments. Creation of an IT strategy and coordination of solution design creation considering business requirements. Coordination with stakeholders, business departments and IT departments.

Leading an IT team of 7 team members. Coordination of projects for transformation and renewal of existing software and IT landscape in Trading Logistics IT and ETRM area. Stakeholder management and requirements management. Support in resource and budget management.

• Successful implementation of a business-critical system for energy trading in a very challenging stakeholder and supplier environment
• Timely integration of a business unit into existing IT application landscape including functional extension of applications for new processes
• Development of processes, communication structures and documentation for cooperation between internal customers, application support and data center for a virtualization solution

Setup and stabilization of new software development team and knowledge transfer after company acquisition (carve-in). Introduction of agile development methods and Scrum. Management of external supplier as extended workbench. Creating documentation and supporting process for handover and acceptance of new software versions to production.

Analysis of existing technologies. Evaluation of various architecture approaches (including Agent-based Architecture and SOA). Architecture design for application. Implementation of SOA main components (including Enterprise Service Bus based on MS MessageQueue, Event-Dispatcher for load, resource and task-dependent distribution, High Availability and System Monitoring Services, TCP-based communication between distributed components, interface definition for services, etc.). Architecture and design supervising and coaching of developers, software reviews.

Achievements:

• Weakness analysis of existing software system regarding new application requirements and creation of architecture concept for freely scalable and highly available telecommunications application
• Short-term setup of development team for new application development, coaching and successful introduction to new development methods (Object-oriented programming), programming language (C#/.NET) and technologies (Microsoft .NET 1.1 technology stack)
