At DUO (part of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science) as Senior Business Analyst/deputy Product Owner for the “Status Financing” Scrum teams.
The project had a client in The Hague, three Scrum teams with members in Groningen and The Hague, and clients across the country (schools and student administration system providers).
Developed systems linked to internal and external systems like BRP (population register), student management systems, and various education registers.
Environment: Java, SQL, Kanban, Scrum, Jira, Confluence, MagicDraw, SoapUI, VMWare, Interface design (XML, JSON, YAML), SOA, UML, Use Case analysis, User Stories, BPMN, GDPR, Business process analysis and optimization
As Business Analyst, I coordinated and refined business rules, processes, use cases, user stories, XSDs, interfaces (APIs, RESTful, YAML, SOAP, XML) with external parties, agreed with domain architects, and shared solutions within the team and with clients nationwide. Common challenges were odd or unclear laws and expert decisions made to solve past issues.
As deputy Product Owner, I supported the PO with backlog grooming and prioritization, led planning, and prepared sprint reports. From October 2020 to August 2021 I took over all PO tasks due to the PO’s accident. After his return, I kept internal tasks.
Role: PO (dedicated) Oct 2020 - Aug 2021
After a DUO tender, many DevOps teams were replaced, disrupting performance. From July 2022 to Oct 2023 I took on Scrum Master duties to get teams back on track. Once successful, Scrum Master duties returned to the teams.
Role: Scrum Master (dedicated) Jul 2022 - Oct 2023
Key decisions included the future setup of Status Financing: which technologies (Java, PowerCenter, MagicDraw, RMS, no Blueriq), simplifying processes, and handling implementations. I collaborated with the PO and other analysts and drafted key guidance.
At the Tax Office (Belastingdienst) as Business Analyst on the “Uitfasering DAS” (phasing out the digital archive) project, later as Architect for archive systems.
DAS was the old digital archive for tax authorities.
Environment: SQL, Jira, XML, Use Cases, User Stories, BPMN, GDPR, SOA, IBM FileNet, Confluence, Mainframe, Cobol, Java, DAS, IBM FileNet, MQ, IBM Message Broker
Process: Agile/SAFe, Prince2
In phase one I researched how to migrate the archive efficiently and realistically, what software needed adapting or building, and required processes. I documented designs, nonfunctional requirements, and mapped old metadata to new. I planned the migration process. The new archive (GDA) is based on IBM FileNet.
Major challenges were limited DAS knowledge, mismatched metadata, missing interface docs, and migrating huge data volumes while daily operations continued.
We deployed working migration software on the old archive side and a broker for production and migration flows. Delays in the new GDA system paused the migration.
Role: Business Analyst Apr 2019 - Dec 2021
After the pause, I took the Architect role for archives. I produced several SAs for changes and served as contact for archive systems. I advised on GDA design with a business architect and CFD. GDA is the generic document and archive system that should support case-based work.
Role: Solution Architect Jan 2022 - Mar 2024
At ERGO/DKV as Business Analyst/Scrum Master/Agile Coach supporting the “EASY” project in private health insurance.
“EASY” is ERGO’s broker system to help advisors serve their clients better.
Environment: TFS, HP QC/ALM, Access, SQL, SharePoint, Visual Studio, .NET, C#, SQL Server, Citrix, Enterprise Architect, in-house development
Process: Agile/Scrum, ITIL
Quickly onboarded in the complex German health insurance system.
Defined several changes and requirements for new features, including test cases in HP ALM, and managed their implementation.
Wrote user stories so advisors could serve clients faster using their favorite tariff selections.
Trained developers, analysts, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners in Agile/Scrum since Agile was new to ERGO.
From Jan 2017 to Jul 2017 I was the team’s Scrum Master, organizing all events alongside my BA role.
A key challenge was developers’ flexibility: they were used to large waterfall specs and struggled with changing, limited user stories and thinking beyond the obvious.
At MultiTankcard (MTc) as IT Manager/Scrum Master/Analyst supporting the IT department (10 Oracle developers).
MTc is the market leader in fuel and mobility cards in the Netherlands with over 17 million annual transactions.

Designed interfaces for public transport, taxis, and parking.
Managed system adaptation projects.

At BMW as Business Consultant introducing automated standard sales figures (KPIs) in BMW G6 and B6 markets like Australia, China, Germany, France, Japan, Russia, and the USA.
BMW wanted a standardized, automated way to count wholesales, retails, incoming orders, build-to-order, and build-to-stock across these markets.
The automated SAP system calculates figures based on board-defined definitions.
Analyzed differences between reported and automated figures with each market.
Reported findings to BMW AG and local markets, and updated processes or definitions as needed.
Used analyses in target discussions with markets.
Role: Business Consultant KPI Feb 2011 - Jul 2012
Environment: SQL, Excel, VBA, Oracle, Informatica, SAP, nearshore/in-house development
Process: Prince2
Supported the IVS-R Ordering system (used in most countries for new BMW orders, over 1.5 million annual orders).
Role: Business Consultant Ordering Mar 2012 - Feb 2015
Environment: SQL, Excel, VBA, ERD, UML, BPMN, Use Cases, HP QC/ALM, Oracle, DB2, SAP, Messaging, offshore development
Process: Agile/Scrum, ITIL, Prince2
Identified and analyzed IVS-R issues, created requirements, specified changes, and managed third parties (offshore in the US and India) implementing them.
Supported business with complex analysis and joined multiple projects like “BMW i (Ordering)”, “EU Central Stock 2”, “New Sales Priorities”, “HP Quality Center Migration”, “US Bikes Migration”, and “China Bikes”.
Also involved in IVS-R rollouts in Canada, Korea, and Brazil. These markets used separate systems (AS/400 in Canada, SAP WIT in Korea and Brazil). The board decided to standardize on IVS-R, so I analyzed legacy data, planned and coordinated migration (including schedule), conducted a fit-gap analysis, defined new features, managed implementation, and supported testing.
At Facilicom as Project Manager building an employee portal for Axxicom Thuishulp.
The portal included CMS features (news, blogs, forums, manuals, view/download) and request forms for employees to ask questions to Axxicom and their managers.
Employees could view and download payslips, annual statements, and time records, and access RostarCAS (planning tool) via an embedded link.
Environment: Citrix, .NET, MS SQL Server, C#, SwordFish CMS, XML, XSD, SOAP, API, nearshore development
Process: Prince2
A major challenge was launching a working portal by the December 1 deadline.
I wrote the RFP, interviewed suppliers, and advised management on supplier selection.
Negotiated final supplier contracts.
The portal was externally hosted and linked to Facilicom systems (AS/400 for payroll and RostarCAS and Identity and Access Management). Facilicom’s ICT department, in coordination with the supplier, handled those connections.
At vts Politie Nederland (the Dutch police IT organization) as Team Lead, coordinating migration of several applications (intranets, Corsa, Planon) and decommissioning about 50 applications.
Environment: Oracle, MS SQL Server, Citrix, BPM, Planon, Corsa, ITIL, OTAP, .NET
Process: Prince2, ITIL
Formed a knowledge team (10–16 people) with representatives from each corps and vtsPN, which I chaired.
Wrote the consolidation advice and planned and led migration teams (3–9 staff depending on complexity).
Successfully retired several applications.
A key challenge was aligning all police bodies and vtsPN. With coaching, listening, feedback, and escalation when needed, the teams completed migrations successfully.
