Senior Engineering Manager

Founded the department with three developers and scaled it into a specialized business unit with 170 employees. Agile product development played a major role in the growth of the IU Group. We aced several Best Place to Work awards and external audits.

• Part of IU's senior management team. Actively helped shape the company's direction in steering committees and board meetings
• Responsible for a multi-million budget including cost control
• Led the software development department, which works with scaled Scrum in about 30 cross-functional teams in marketing, CRM, ERP, and eLearning
• Managed enterprise architects, engineering managers, tech leads, directors, and agile coaches
• Helped build a cybersecurity and ISMS department
• Founded and led a product portfolio management working group
• Developed an engineering culture, career paths, and values
• Successfully trained bachelor's and master's students

Designed, built, and developed the e-learning software 'FAHRSCHULCARD' from scratch. Responsible for the continuous improvement and scaling of areas including software development, architecture, IT, and administration. Planned and implemented related business tools, e.g., for CRM, customer management, shop, and billing. Selected and managed external service providers and oversaw project planning and management.
