Trainer/Coach/Facilitator - EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation (ASF.DE)

GFN – Gemeinsam weiterbilden

Agile Scrum training and certification (20 days)

As trainer, coach, and facilitator, I led a comprehensive training program in agile project management with Scrum, specifically designed for adult learners. The courses were delivered online to ensure maximum flexibility and accessibility for participants.

The program covered:

  • Training modules: Agile Scrum Foundation, Agile Scrum Master, Agile Scrum Product Owner
  • Hands-on components: virtual JIRA workshops to apply Scrum principles; guidance on online practice projects following Scrum methodology
  • Certification prep: intensive online preparation for ASM (Agile Scrum Master) and ASPOB (Agile Scrum Product Owner) exams; support for successful completion of digital exams

In my role as adult educator, I taught participants thorough method knowledge and led practical exercises in a virtual learning environment. This set them up for success on certification exams and future Scrum projects. By combining theory and hands-on practice in a digital format, participants gained deep understanding of agile principles and techniques tailored to modern work needs.

Organizational Development, Employer Attractiveness, Site Attractiveness

Kraftwerk Reckingen AG

  • Kraftwerk Reckingen AG (RKR), producing CO2-neutral electricity since 1941 for around 60,000 households, faced a concession renewal process and planned technical upgrades.
  • To meet these challenges, RKR aimed to increase its appeal as an employer.
  • This project included consulting services to improve site attractiveness, creating a package of measures integrating the company’s mission, vision, values, and guiding principles.
  • A key part was strengthening employee engagement and easing recruitment through better internal and external image.
  • Workshops were held with management and plant staff.
  • Workshop analysis revealed strengths like exciting projects, good work climate, and extensive training opportunities.
  • It also showed areas for better employee recognition, improved organization and communication, and stronger proactive support from the commercial department.
  • Employees requested more open communication, home-office options, and more effective team-building.
  • The final measures package aims to enhance internal and external company portrayal.
  • Key elements: talent development, improving online presence, building a strong corporate identity, and boosting employer attractiveness.
  • These steps will keep the plant sustainable and competitive by raising employee satisfaction and easing recruitment of specialists.

Project Lead for Advancing Leadership in Self-Organization

Deutsche Bahn AG

Project “Advancing Leadership in Self-Organization” at DB Systel.

As external project lead for the coaching program, I provided individual support to 80 leaders—from the managing director to cluster agile masters and product owners, unit agile masters, and team agile masters and product owners. This comprehensive approach ensures all leadership levels are included in developing and improving self-organization and leadership skills.

Facing dynamic changes and challenges, Deutsche Bahn recognized the need to offer targeted support to its leaders, experts, and project managers. This support is vital for personal growth and long-term success. We enhanced the coaching offerings from DB Training, Learning & Consulting for greater efficiency and impact.

The main aim was to advance self-organization leadership skills at DB Systel. Key tasks included:

  • As-is analysis: review of current leadership and organizational systems
  • Goal setting: define clear, future-focused targets for the leadership system
  • Solution design: develop approaches to move from current to target state
  • Evaluation & presentation: assess feasibility and effectiveness of solutions
  • Stakeholder management: gather input and unite stakeholders for a coherent approach
  • Workshops & active sessions: interactive formats to identify and address system obstacles
  • Risk & potential analysis: assess leadership behavior for risks and opportunities
  • Process design & oversight: facilitate workshops to present and discuss results
  • Leadership maturity: analyze and enhance leadership system development
  • Barrier & potential consulting: identify obstacles and chances in evolving leadership
  • Systematic approach: guide continuous reflection and growth of leadership work

We conducted interviews, identified patterns, and created situational recommendations for role holders and systemic suggestions. We spotted issues like role confusion, conflict avoidance, lack of reflection on distributed leadership, and need to sustain leadership professionalization. Short-term actions focus on individual/team measures like using a leadership monitor for self-assessment. Mid/long-term steps include modular learning paths and mandatory governance workshops. Next steps: finalize results docs by July 2024, quality checks, handover, pilot in one cluster, and develop extended team-role concept. We plan to integrate recommendations into Bahn GPT by fall 2024.

Overall, the project uses interviews, workshops, and systematic analysis to build a solid base for improving leadership skills at DB Systel with short-, mid-, and long-term impact.

Project Manager for SSA of SASPF Systems

BWI GmbH

Security Status Analysis (SSA) for SASPF systems including complementary systems like S/4HANA.

As project manager for the SSA tender for SASPF (standard application software product families) and complementary systems such as S/4HANA, I prepared a comprehensive tender in security status analysis. The goal was to find a provider with the expertise to perform complex security analyses and ensure safe, efficient operation of these Bundeswehr system landscapes.

Responsibilities:

  • Market research: broad market analysis to identify potential providers and review available solutions
  • Pre-qualification: multi-step process to vet providers on expertise, experience, and financial stability
  • Stakeholder management & requirements workshops: organize and lead workshops with Bundeswehr and BWI stakeholders to define project requirements
  • Documentation: draft and coordinate tender documents, including technical specs, performance descriptions, and legal frameworks

Results:

  • Successful tender launch with strong interest from qualified vendors
  • Established stakeholder management that addressed all parties’ needs
  • Developed a robust pre-qualification method as best practice for future tenders

Through careful planning and execution, I helped strengthen Bundeswehr’s security infrastructure and laid groundwork for efficient collaboration with external providers, leveraging my skills in project management, stakeholder management, digital transformation, and organizational development.
