EIGENSONNE was among the top 5 companies that sold and built B2C rooftop solar systems across Germany, using its own installation teams and a proprietary, Salesforce-based software for designing, selling and servicing rooftop solar systems. It brought a seamless customer experience and additional energy products to its clients, far beyond what traditional installers can offer. It was as much an installation company as it was a TECH company. I co-founded EIGENSONNE with corporate investor EWE AG and two co-founders. In July 2023, my Co-CEO Michael Aigner and I exited the company to focus on new ventures. EIGENSONNE was subsequently sold and renamed as Amia Energy.
Zalando is Europe's biggest online fashion pure player. Exceeding €10bn in revenue in 2023, the company is headquartered in Berlin, where it employs roughly 6000 people. Germany is its domestic and biggest market. More TECH company than retailer, Zalando strives to reinvent the fashion eco-system and connect all types of stakeholders from physical retailers to stylists, factories, bike couriers and bloggers.
Headquartered in London, ASOS is the world's leading fashion online store for 20-somethings. Listed at LSE since 2000, during my tenure the company had around 1500 employees in 7 offices around the world and achieved revenues of around £1.4bn for the fiscal year ending August 2016. Germany and Northern Europe represented roughly a quarter of ASOS' sales.
YOOX Net-A-Porter Group is one of the leading fashion e-commerce companies. It operates four proprietary multi-brand fashion online stores – Net-A-Porter, YOOX, Mr Porter and The Outnet. It also runs third-party websites for (during my tenure) 34 brands such as Armani, DIESEL, Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
