Summary

I have many years of experience in pricing management, as well as in building controlling departments and related reporting systems.

Since 2007, I have been successfully working as a freelancer in controlling, finance, and pricing management. Before that, I worked for 15 years as a permanent employee at Schwarzkopf & Henkel in Düsseldorf. My career started in sales controlling and after 5 years I was tasked as Head of Controlling for the merged companies Schwarzkopf & Henkel to build and further develop a market-oriented controlling department for sales and marketing. After that, I worked freelance for many clients in various industries (FMCG, insurance, real estate / construction, automotive, capital goods, pharma, eyewear). As a freelancer, I have also built and led controlling departments several times. I am passionate about both supporting the operational business in value-adding day-to-day operations and acting as a business partner to further develop or creatively enhance the available tools, always focusing on driving revenue and profitability.

In my last interim assignment, one of my tasks was to keep the entire Tableau-based reporting stable despite a major SAP change. The client now even has a few more useful dashboards that I developed and implemented in coordination with sales colleagues. Furthermore, I was also responsible for further developing the pricing management and contract management of about 600 customer contracts for the client's particularly complex business model.

Below is a description of some successful projects that demonstrate my skills and experience, so you can get a picture for yourself. You can find more details in my profile.

From 2008 to 2010, I transformed a strategic controlling department into a sales controlling department at Volksfürsorge Versicherung Hamburg after its acquisition by the Generali Group, including the development and implementation of a sales-focused reporting system. I succeeded so well that I was then given project responsibility to implement an extensive, fully automated weekly KPI reporting for all 350 locations, a reporting system that was later adopted by the new parent company Generali in Munich.

At Haribo Bonn, I led and developed the 15-person German controlling team (marketing and sales controlling + plant controlling) for 9 months after the first SAP rollout.

At real estate group Vonovia, for a newly established in-house crafts organization with 16 locations, I developed the planning methodology and carried it out with all site managers, as well as set up the reporting for this joint venture. All this was done within 1.5 years in a dynamic environment where around 1,000 employees were hired and 16 sites opened.

For many clients, I have set up BI tool reporting for sales, marketing, and corporate management with my business knowledge and skills in BI tools. In addition to reporting, I have often been responsible for sales, marketing, and corporate planning including budgets. Both for the preparation, organization and implementation of the planning, and for the development and implementation of planning methods.

Excel has been my "work tool" of choice for decades (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP), but I have also gained know-how in using and developing dashboards with BI tools like Tableau, IBM Cognos TM1 and Infor PM10. SAP has been with me since the start of my career.
