Coordinated multiple projects within my own company and partner companies of the regional business association in areas of NextGen firewall infrastructure (upgrade, product switch), network infrastructure (design and upgrade), security infrastructure (design and implementation), and cyber resilience.
This greenfield project focused on centralizing the IT of a large international client, a fast-growing software group with market-leading vertical software companies. To continue operations, a new service catalog had to be created.
The internal teams’ or departments’ specific responsibilities needed to be identified and their commitment to delivering IT services ensured.
The catalog needed a user-friendly organization for easy navigation and understanding. Services and their OLAs had to be categorized by function, user group, or criticality to optimize access and clarity.
Hörmann rolled out an ECC template across subsidiaries still using different ERP solutions. Once SAP ECC was globally deployed, migration to SAP S/4HANA began.
Provided simultaneous interpretation between German and Italian during the ECC template rollout and explained topics alongside on-site process consultants at the Italian plant near Trento.
This is the global implementation program ATLAS (Automating the Total Customer Lifecycle Across SAP) within Enterprise Cloud Services, SAP’s “Private Cloud,” also focusing on the RISE with SAP migration and modernization program.
On the stakeholder side, the program sponsor is the ECS President, with executives from various board areas on the steering committee. The program reports up to the SAP Executive Board.
My role centers on coordinating cross-cutting program topics among workstreams representing different board areas.
Technical and process-level problem and solution understanding is essential to critically guide and steer the program.
High communication skills are also vital to coordinate global business workstreams on cross-cutting topics. A willingness to actively coordinate and engage in prioritization discussions is required.
SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) is a global organization responsible for delivering cloud-hosted infrastructure, technical, and application-related managed services for SAP private cloud customers. The CDM is the main customer-facing representative of SAP ECS, ensuring full delivery responsibility for engagement and customer satisfaction throughout the customer lifecycle.
The CDM collaborates with SAP stakeholders and key customer stakeholders, overseeing all aspects of the customer engagement from contract signing through the full lifecycle, providing expertise in commercial, project, governance, innovation, and technical operations. The CDM takes ownership of successful customer engagement to deliver contracted ECS services and maximize customer success across the strategic engagement portfolio.
The CDM ensures proper governance in managing customer relationships, service adoption, and renewals, focusing on customer success and enriching the customer experience.
SAP’s Cloud Network Infrastructure faced challenges from lifecycle management gaps amid rapid growth.
Many network services needed restructuring because they didn’t use technologies and designs required for cloud operations or couldn’t handle the load. Also, expanding the SAP service portfolio required new network services.
The program develops HEC infrastructure to the latest stable data center technology, stabilizes the current infrastructure, ensures compliance of existing equipment, and implements a new design that meets HEC’s growth needs without jeopardizing certification for top security and regulatory standards (GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA).
The program aims to reduce compute failures by 20%, network failures by 70%, and human errors by 50%, improving service quality for S/4HANA Public and Private Cloud customers.
In recent years, SAP acquired several cloud software companies as part of its transformation into a cloud software firm. One acquisition was Ariba Inc., now part of the Business Network Group Board but still largely independent. Ariba’s core is the business network that connects suppliers with buyers and generates revenue through transaction fees on the platform.
As volume grew, pricing model adjustments and contractual framework changes became key drivers. Today, the Ariba Network integrates with SAP Core ERP, transferring invoice data via a custom staging area into the SAP ERP SD module (billing).
Future pricing and contract info (customer onboarding) will be managed in SAP CRM. Convergent Mediation will offload the Ariba Network, offering more flexibility and scalability and integrating with SAP Core ERP.
This project redesigns and implements the order-to-cash process for Ariba suppliers.
I led the “Business and IT Operations” workstream, responsible for analyzing current operations and support models and proposing new models for operating the Ariba Network integrated with SAP’s internal backend systems.
Strategic consulting for SAP Global Security and the Cyber Defense and Response Center (CDRC), including IT Service Continuity Management, Cyber Resilience, Disaster Recovery, ISO/IEC audits (9001, 22301, 27001).
Managed the rollout of a new release of a consumer finance application for personal loan origination. Addressed regulatory requirements (e.g., Insurance Distribution Directive) and implemented new features.
SAP acquired Hybris in 2013. SAP planned to replace the database for its Hybris Commerce Managed Services and Cloud Services and migrate customer environments from legacy cloud providers to SAP HANA Cloud.
From early 2017, all new customer environments would be built exclusively on SAP HANA. Throughout 2017, SAP Hybris migrated all existing customers to SAP HANA, ultimately into SAP data centers.
Project/process management for managed services tendering and IT strategy, including system protection strategy (e.g., via CMS).
Project manager for infrastructure projects under the digital transformation strategy.
ERGO planned to invest around one billion euros by 2020 to offer customers and sales partners a comprehensive cross-channel offering. Most funds went to IT modernization. From 2017, ERGO launched a fully digital, standalone brand.
In this digital transformation program, I led cross-functional infrastructure projects of all types from initiation to handover to operations. Projects included product launches, modernizations, and regulatory compliance.
DCC is part of the Allianz Infrastructure Transformation (AIT) program, set up to build a digital infrastructure backbone. Alongside DCC, AIT includes Allianz Global Network (AGN), Information Security, and Allianz Virtual Client (AVC). Together, these programs enable efficient and secure digital customer service.
The DCC program aims to transform Allianz’s heterogeneous data center landscape into a globally harmonized private cloud infrastructure. It builds a global, cost-efficient IT infrastructure meeting top quality and service standards while enhancing data security and disaster recovery.
Over 140 local Allianz data centers worldwide are being consolidated into five strategic sites in Europe (Paris and Frankfurt), North America (Phoenix and Edison), and Asia-Pacific (Singapore). Upon completion, 24,000 servers will be consolidated.
Actively involved in company-wide initiatives like team management, project management, people management, customer interaction, project execution, implementing quality tools, IT security, management tools, and improvement initiatives to ensure production/application support globally.
Worked on a natural science project in cooperation with Parks Canada and various Canadian universities. The goal was to research the impact of climate change on the polar bear population of northern Hudson Bay, their feeding habits, and condition.
