Summary
I have been working in COBOL development since the 1980s – back when even in my business informatics studies the fundamentals of programming logic were taught in COBOL.
After that, I wrote several hundred thousand lines of COBOL source code, because back then there were hardly any business software solutions for small and medium-sized companies.
From the 1980s onward, this led to a complete inventory management system in COBOL, including open-item management, dunning and interfaces to financial accounting.
