Miguel (Armando) Chaparro

I am an industrial designer and audiovisual artist, passionate about sound studies and drawing as a tool for collective creation and memory reconstruction. For several years I worked as a designer, producer and director of experiential and ephemeral architecture projects, then I got involved in more educational and artistic projects as a tutor of expression techniques with music and drawing in community spaces, collectives of social impact on youth. This has allowed me to meet and work in different fields and ages that seek through art and education to promote a good life.

My artistic process is going through an academic moment where I am developing a thesis in the Master of Digital Media at the hfk, called Memorias Resonantes, in which I investigate different contexts and memories of the city in order to create a sound composition involving drawing tools and experimental radio. Parallel drawing exercises, such as the creation of unconventional scores with children or object drawing, have allowed me to explore different ways of arriving at the sound composition.

I am interested in continuing to work in artistic education fields that promote culture through tools and techniques that have collective work as an initiative
