As the Global Process owner of the Business Intelligence Area, I contribute to designing the Data Strategy. I am responsible for the Global BI Platform based on different technologies: SAP BW4/HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, Analysis for Office and Power BI. I collaborate also with the FICO team due to my acquired skills in this area. I work closely with the business worldwide to build dashboards, data models, and reports to provide useful insights. I coordinate different international Analytics teams as a project manager, referring to the progress of the projects to the Board.

Key Projects & Achievements:

  • Participated in the Implementation Project of S/4, a project over 2 years of duration done directly with SAP Switzerland. Coordinated the SAP implementation team based in Portugal remotely and with visits on site at the Interroll headquarter. The project went live with all the dashboards and reports working and the data matching S/4.
  • Managed many BI projects in different areas like Sales, Finance, Global KPIs, Manufacturing and Purchasing as Project Manager and personally developed and coded when necessary. Followed the migration of the reports from BO and Lumira to AFO and BW4/HANA.
  • Worked for 4 years on Spend Analytics, realizing a set of Data models and Dashboards to analyze the purchasing of all the worldwide entities of the group (more than 30). The project was focused on managing savings, analyzing where the material was cheaper to be bought, lead times, inventory optimization, and supply chain risk. The project has been very successful, allowing the group to make savings on purchasing volume by 8%, increasing the group profitability as officially reported.
  • Led the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA, overseeing system integration, process optimization, and user training to drive operational efficiency and support business transformation.
  • Managed Supply Chain Analytics initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize inventory management, lower the supply chain risk, and gain savings by enabling purchasers to know where parts were cheaper to buy. This project enabled the Interroll Group to increase profitability with a concrete impact on EBIT.
  • Led the Sales Value Pricing project, optimizing pricing strategies based on data-driven insights to enhance profitability and competitive positioning in the market.
  • Spearheaded the Sales Reporting project, designing and implementing dashboards and reports to track sales performance, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Led the development of a Global KPIs Strategic Dashboard, centralizing key performance indicators across regions to drive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making at the executive level.
  • Led the migration of business intelligence systems to SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), optimizing data management and analytics capabilities to enhance reporting accuracy and decision-making.
  • Oversaw the strategic dismissal of the Business Objects project, ensuring a smooth transition to alternative BI tools while minimizing disruption and aligning with evolving business needs.
  • Led the integration of SAP Datasphere with Microsoft Fabric, streamlining data workflows and enhancing cross-platform analytics for improved business decision-making.
  • Managed BW/4HANA application, ensuring efficient data integration, reporting performance, and system stability to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Managed Fiori reports utilizing Analysis for Office (AFO), ensuring accurate data visualization and seamless user experience for enhanced business insights.
  • Developed data models and reports for various business areas, including production, logistics, stock management, and controlling accounting, enhancing operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
  • ESG Project: Led a Business Intelligence project focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) metrics, enabling data-driven sustainability reporting and strategic decision-making.
  • Participated in the European project Knowcoat, included in the V Framework programme IST (Information Society Technologies). The project was carried out in collaboration with a consortium of European ICT companies to produce a knowledge management platform for the coatings chemical industry.

  • Strategy development: Defining the Data Strategy for the group (Architecture and strategy on how to go for a Data Driven Organization).
  • Communication: Created the Global Business Intelligence on Viva Engage, published stories and realized the BI website containing links to training, BI Directive list of reports and dashboards.
  • Business Use Cases: Created success stories, published on Viva Engage.
  • Leadership: I lead the Business Intelligence function for the whole group at a global level, coordinating different BI developments teams in Switzerland and abroad.
  • Implementation: I’ve personally developed data models, reports, dashboards.
  • Data Management: Involved in privacy and security topics to guarantee the correct compliance of data management.
  • Coding: Coded using different programming languages.
  • Project Management: I have personally managed using project management methodology, mainly agile, more than 15 BI projects over 5 years, some with a very high budget. Done on time, on budget, on quality, as recognized by the company giving me the full performance bonus every year.
  • Data Governance: I have written the BI directive on the correct usage of BI tools in the company.
  • Management of Tickets: Managed and resolved BI support tickets, ensuring timely issue resolution, user satisfaction, and continuous system optimization.
  • Trainings and Presentations: Conducted trainings and presentations on Business Intelligence tools and best practices, empowering teams with data-driven insights and enhancing organizational data literacy.
  • Collaboration with IT for security: Collaborated with IT teams to implement security measures for Business Intelligence systems, ensuring data integrity, access control, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Definition of the BI Strategy: Development and execution of Business Intelligence strategies to drive data-driven decision-making, ensuring alignment with organizational goals through efficient data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.

  • Project for a national company in the field of cosmetics: As an SAP BW Consultant 7.5 on HANA, produced COPA data flows for integration with BPC. Realized ABAP Routines at the start level routines and Info object Routines in transformations. Realized data flow to transform the customer hierarchy from five levels to four, guaranteeing the texture of the structure. Created a procedure for the actualization of some characteristics by reading data from the database. Created Process Chains. Realized project documentation and coordinated with other team members, mainly with BPC consultants.
  • Project for a national company in the field of gate automation: Realized data flows of General Ledger and Assets for integration with BPC. Created Start Routines, Expert Routines for transposing data flow from row to column, and created Info object Routines at the transformation level. Created Process Chains and set up sending reports in case of errors. Realized BBP, coordinated with other team members and with the project manager. Gained experience in release upgrade projects.
  • Project for the Italian branch of a German industrial group active in the production and distribution of spray-painting systems: As an SAP CO Consultant, was responsible for efforts estimation, technical support and supervision of CO solution design, customization and development. Designed CO solutions and BBP. Conducted testing and functional analysis of ABAP support, training, and support. The project consisted of two phases: the first was the implementation of the international model to the Italian subsidiary, customizing it according to local needs, training, activation and post-live support. The second phase was related to the merger of the Italian subsidiary with another company and the modification of the configuration to cope with the new scenario. The implementation involved the following PS modules: Project Orders (Highly customized), Cost Elements, Cost Centers (Hierarchy standards, Activity creation, Cycle allocation), WIP definition and reporting, Internal Orders (to manage car costs and personnel expenses), Profit Centers (Profit and Loss by Business Unit), Product Costing (Customized valuation strategy for Italian localization, over 100,000 quantified materials) and Profitability Analysis (KEDR tcode derivation rules localization, KE30 used for monthly reports).
