Kenneth is a senior software developer with extensive experience in robotics and 3D algorithms, mathematical modeling and machine learning/AI. He has a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology. Besides his 10+ years of programming experience, he has also run his own business for all those years, frequently with anywhere between 2 to 6 employees, thanks to which he also has a good understanding of the commercial aspects of large and complex (software) projects.
Kenneth has worked as a senior developer and researcher for amongst others, Quotation Factory, Robotic Labs, SITA and Epona Medical. At Quotation Factory he has developed algorithms and machine learning models for automatic recognition of forms and features within 3D CAD drawings in order to automatically generate quotations for the manufacturing industry. For example, recognizing tubes, profiles or sheet metal, as well as detecting louvers, holes and flanges. For Robotic Labs he has written software for automation of sample inoculation on 3M Petrifilms and Petridishes. Here he has also worked on automated counting of bacteria colonies and fungi on 3M Petrifilms. For SITA Kenneth is the developer of all algorithms for their Drop & Fly and Scan & Fly machines in which generated 3D point clouds need to be analyzed for conveyability on the airport luggage transport belt systems. At Epona Medical Kenneth has worked on a 3D simulator, written in C++ and using Ogre3D. An exercise was developed in which a surgeon had to cut a circle out of a flexible piece of cloth, using real instruments in a simulated environment.
Furthermore, Kenneth has played a leading role in the development of complete SCADA systems for Eurofins Group, Lavetan, Qlip and other large microbiology laboratories. This has allowed him to acquire plenty of general experience in robotics, like HMI development, PLC programming (CodeSys), TCP, MQTT and REST communication, Linux development, etc. Kenneth has usually completed projects independently. During his student years, he was already active as a freelance programmer and has released hundreds of websites and web applications, ranging from simple presentation websites to full-fledged webshops and e-booking systems.
Thanks to this broad and decades long experience, Kenneth can independently take on very complex projects that have to do with robotics, 3D algorithms and machine learning, or related subjects. In case the project becomes larger, Kenneth also has several years of experience managing small teams of up to 6 people.
Finally, it may be said that despite the high level of complexity most projects have entailed and the many external challenges and setbacks, Kenneth has always, without exception, brought all projects to a successful conclusion.
