Senior SAP FICO/FM Functional Consultant

Since April 2023 I am working with Al Watania Information Systems (KSA) as Senior SAP S4HANA FICO/FM Functional Consultant. Here I am working on the SAP S4HANA Implementation and support projects for the clients based in KSA. My portfolio of Implementation and Support clients include:

I joined Exalogic Consulting (UAE) as Senior SAP S4HANA FICO/FM Functional Consultant where I was responsible for S4HANA Implementation and support projects for the clients based in UAE and India. My portfolio of Support clients include:

In July 2016, I joined the Technology Consulting & Risk Assurance (TCRA) division, part of Technology Advisory segment of A.F. Ferguson & Co. as SAP ERP Associate Consultant. Since joining, I have been deployed on multiple SAP projects to supervise project quality and maintain assurance in financial modules. My role responsibilities varies from reviewing each ongoing project activity of SAP implementation team, to liaison with client in order to remove any bottlenecks and to make sure the smooth project delivery is achieved. On behalf of client, I tend to lead joint meetings with client and Implementation partner to purpose the best possible solution in order to resolve any issues being faced as and when they occur.

• Project: National Transmission and Despatch Company Ltd (NTDC) (Nov 2019 – Mar 2020)** Under NTDC ERP QA project, I contributed as Finance and Budgeting Consultant. It is a government owned entity responsible for installation and maintenance of country wide electricity transmission network. NTDC is one of the largest ERP Program among all national companies which is going to implement ERP and EAM systems with funding from World Bank. My current role and responsibilities include:

• Identify the Business Requirements for Finance and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) modules by analyzing NTDC As-Is processes

• Quantifying and documenting the To-Be requirements through sessions with Finance and EAM teams

• Transform the functional business processes and practices into ERP transactional methodology so Implementation Vendor could easily understand what and how he needs to configure in Finance and EAM modules. This exercise will also identify the business process integration requirements.

• Project: Riphah International University (Aug 2017 – Nov 2019)**

In August 2017, I was deployed on Quality Advisory of ERP package which need to be implemented in Riphah International University. To achieve the client’s objectives, I have performed following diversified tasks:

• Drafting Business Requirements for following functional modules:
• Financial and Cost Accounting (including Budgeting)
• Material Management
• Human Capital Management
• Project Systems
• Drafting Request For Proposal (RFP) Document for Procurement of services of New Implementation Partner

Since contracting with Abacus Consulting for the Implementation of SAP S/4 HANA in November 2018, I have performed following activities under domain of FICO, FM and GM modules:

• Supporting the client in covering legacy system (SHF) and existing business processes during AS-IS sessions. Review of AS-IS documents drafted by Implementation Consultants.

• Review of Business Blueprint (BBP) document and conducting the Fit-Gap Analysis

• Review of the SAP Chart of Accounts and highlighting the improving areas

• Compilation of Roles and Authorization Matrix in coordination with Power Users

• Unit Testing and Integration Testing of FICO and FM,GM modules

• Preparation and finalization of UAT Test Scripts

• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Testing of FICO modules

• Preparing Data cut over and Migration Strategy

• Review of final Data Upload, Data Validation and Verification in Production server

• Resolution of Post Implementation Issues.

• Project: Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) (Dec 2017 – Mar 2020)**

Likewise FESCO, GEPCO is also one of the mainstream electricity distribution company which is implementing SAP S/4 HANA with Abacus Consulting through ASAP methodology. Since December 2017, I have also been deployed to GEPCO where I am working on various tasks summarized below:

• Drafting Business Requirements (BRDs) for ERP Implementation Partner

• Preparing Draft of RFP and incorporating functional BRDs in this document

• Feasibility Study Report for ERP

• Report on Potential ERP Vendors

• Technical Evaluation of ERP Vendors

• Drafting of GEPCO AS-IS business processes for SAP FICO & FM modules

• Conducting FICO & FM AS-IS joint sessions with GEPCO and Abacus Consulting teams

• Review of Business Blueprint (BBP) documents and identifying GAPs.

• Project: TransWorld Associates Pvt Ltd (TWA) (Jan 2018 – Apr 2018)**

TransWorld is a global internet service provider company which has engaged AFFCO in January 2018 for Quality Assurance of SAP S/4 HANA implementation in their Pakistan based entity. During the project, I have performed following tasks for FICO modules:

• Review of FICO Business Blueprints

• Fit-Gap Analysis of FICO Business Blueprints

• Review and Assessment of End User Training Process including Business Process Master List (BPML)

• Review of overall User Acceptance Training (UAT) process and identifying missing scenarios and business processes which need improvement.

• Project: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) (Dec 2016 – Jun 2017)** FESCO is one of Pakistan’s largest national electricity distribution company (DISCO) where SAP R3 ECC 6.0 Implementation has been carried down in two phases by an Implementation partner “ABACUS Consulting”. Throughout the project, I have been involved in doing integration of and handling issues of all functional modules being implemented i.e. FI, CO, FM, MM, PS and HCM.

• To help client in gathering Business Requirements of FI-FM modules and make these requirements part of Business Blueprint (BBP).

• Make sure all business requirements are clearly defined and their appropriate solutions are defined in BBP.

• Review the Realization of FICO & FM modules and make sure that all requirements defined in MoMs and BBP are configured in SAP Development system (DEV).

• Verify configuration by practically running all scenarios on Quality Assurance Servers (QAS) and Pre-PPRD testing servers.

• Re-test all scenarios along with client power users during unit testing in order to bring client users in comfort zone.

• Conducting End User testing (EUT) phase with designated users. Composing EUT manuals and simulations for each process tested in EUT as per BPML.

• Carried on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with Business Process Owners (BPOs). UAT scripts signed off with positive feedback.

• Composing Authorization Matrix Template and sharing it with client to get completed.

• Creation of FM Workflow to define the extent of various functions a user can access as per organizational structure.

• Help client in data compilation required for upload in Production system (PRD) purposes.

• Uploading FM Master Data, Customizations and FM Derivation Strategy on PRD server.

• Verification of data uploaded on both PRD and pre-PRD system.

• Provide support to power users in post-implementation phase for smooth live entries.

• Project: General Tyres and Rubber Company of Pakistan Ltd. (GTR) (Jul 2016 – Dec 2016)**

Upon joining AFF, I was immediately deployed at GTR for SAP R3 ECC 6.0 Implementation where ‘SIEMENS’ was the Implementation Partner. At this project, my responsibilities were:

• To help client in formation of Business Requirements of Financial modules in Minutes of Meetings (MoMs) which later make part of Business Blueprint.
• Make sure all business requirements are clearly defined in BBP and their appropriate solutions also provided by SIEMENS FICO team.
• If solutions provided are not adequate as per SAP Best Practices, then take the matter to client Power Users and Project Management Office (PMO). Conduct meetings and lead client-end so proper solutions are agreed upon and documented in BBP.
• Review the Realization of FICO & FM modules and make sure that all requirements defined in MoMs and BBP are configured in SAP Development system.
• Verify configuration by practically running all scenarios on Quality Assurance Servers (QAS) and Pre-PPRD testing servers.
• Re-test all scenarios along with client power users during unit testing in order to bring client in comfort zone.
• Help client in data compilation required for upload in Production system (PRD) purposes.
• Verification of data uploaded on both PRD and pre-PRD system.
• Liaison with both client and Implementation team for all Go-Live critical activities.
• Provide support to power users in post-implementation phase for smooth live entries.

I have worked in one of the well reputed accountancy firm ‘Accountancy & Taxation Services’ based in Wimbledon, London which is certified by ACCA as ‘Registered Accountants and Statutory Auditors’. My experience is well diversified as I have been involved in all areas of services the firm offers to its wide range of clients and used to report directly to the Partner. The various assignments, I handled, includes completion of final accounts, statutory audits, interim reviews, tax services etc. Major sectors, I worked for, include trading, manufacturing, educational institutions, real estate and not-for-profit organizations comprising a wide range of clients - Self-employed, Partnerships and Companies.
