The project began with a tool-based analysis and evaluation of the existing Lotus Notes solution. Based on this, a target vision was developed for the new platform to be designed and for the mailboxes, applications, and data to be migrated. The existing solution was categorized by business and technical complexity and prioritized. Next, an initial definition of possible migration paths and their mapping in the new target architecture was outlined. The analyses led to a description of the steps to be carried out in the related work package, enabling an initial effort overview.
In the second phase of the project, the concept was defined. Alongside a detailed description of the operating environment and procedures for the business use cases, the technical design of each work package in the migration process was outlined.
In the third step, the iterative implementation and execution of the migration followed (building the target environment, creating migration scripts, test migrations, migrating the applications based on SharePoint 2013, mailbox migration, data migration).
