Area: Power Electronics. Analysis and updating of the section of rectification of the exciter Mitsubishi Toshiba generator of 230 MVA of CMIG: This project consisted in designing a proposal for the replacement of the SCRs (thyristor) of the Excitatrices Mitsubishi Units 4, 5 and 6 of house of machines I Guri (CM1G) to resolve the lack of spare parts of the CMIG excitatrices of the central, based on the study of the SCRs FT500AH-60 and FT1000BV-80. We studied and simulated in Pspice Schematics, the gate pulse generator of the exciter Mitsubishi (GPR) and the pulse amplifier panel gate of the exciter Mitsubishi (GPA). We have implemented a card with the TCA785 integrated circuit and a pulse amplifier circuit gate, firing the SCRs of the excitatrices Mitsubishi of house of machines (Guri plant Division 2 CM2G) within the drawers of THYRISTORS of the exciter Mitsubishi of CM1G, in AC/AC converter configuration with a driving monitor circuit. Were several models of SCRs compatible with the drivers and with the stacks of the drawers of THYRISTORS of the exciter Mitsubishi of CM1G. The results of the tests validated the proposed replacement of the SCRs FT500AH-60 by an equivalent to the FT1000BV-80.

Design and implementation of a protocol/Wireless Communication System for the acquisition of data through the serial port of the PC: This project consisted in designing and implementing a wireless communication system for the acquisition of data through the serial port of the PC, which is controlled by hardware microcontroller PIC 16F877A, using the data channel: Encoders DPC64 and Transceiver ATRT100-433 of ABACOM Technologies, giving support to the communication in the network routes (Universal Network of asynchronous/synchronous transmission of the Laboratory of Advanced Communications of the UNEXPO, Vice President for Puerto Ordaz. The study is projective transectional design by pilot sample with documentary sources and in the field. The technical tests of the system integrated hardware, software and firmware designed in a prototype made up of a central station and three remote service stations, using as a physical interface protocol V24.BIT. The results obtained indicate that the design is suitable, meets the requirements and is it feasible to its implementation. The virtual instruments used were the WinPic800 microcontroller programr, Microchip MPLAB V7.40, Microsoft Visual Basic V6.0 and V6.7 Proteus.
