Power BI Expert

The project aims to migrate the company's existing Power BI Premium environment to Microsoft Fabric. This migration includes moving the existing data models, reports, and dashboards to the new platform to take advantage of the extended features and improved performance of Microsoft Fabric. The solution will be deployed in various regions worldwide to ensure a unified and consistent reporting and analytics environment for all locations.

Several Power BI semantic models should be automatically deployed in parallel across different regions (USA, Switzerland, Germany, Austria) during deployment. The key requirement is that no downtime must be caused during the deployment.

The company created a global reporting solution for their clients' profit and loss statements. Each country had different source systems that were consolidated in Power BI. Various timesheet systems and ERP systems were linked and loaded into a semantic data model. Based on this data, a unified global report was created.

To ensure a consistent design (CI) across all reports, I planned, built, and published a Power BI app, including the access concept.

For the conveyor system, the client built a Power BI data model. After the reporting went live, users complained about poor performance in the reports. The goal was to analyze and speed up the data model so the acceptance of the self-service solution wouldn't suffer.

Since Power BI was introduced, the company had no standards for using data sources in Power BI. Sometimes the SSAS cube, Excel, or a relational database was used. In this context, a standard data source for Power BI was established. The goal was to review all data models for content and switch them to the harmonized standard data source.

The sales figures from the online shops are prepared weekly in Excel and presented to management. The Excel reports are very time-consuming to maintain and somewhat outdated. With the introduction of Power BI, the reports should get a new design and bring more interactivity to the meetings.

Sustainable products are becoming increasingly important to customers and also to retail companies. Manual Excel reports should be replaced by standard SSRS reports. The reporting should not only include standardized reports but also promote a self-service BI culture. Microsoft Power BI was introduced for self-service BI requirements. The entire reporting landscape is fed with data from a data warehouse.

To support the merger of two large telecommunications companies, the different data warehouse systems needed to be consolidated. This required strategic consulting on architecture and technology, as well as downstream project-based activities. The goal was a comprehensive integration of the existing warehouse solutions within both companies and a new build in certain areas.

For day-to-day operations, the ERP software SAP Business One was implemented at various clients and adjusted to their needs. Adjustments were mainly done in C# and using SQL queries. In each project, custom reports were developed with the clients and created in SQL, Crystal Reports, or Coresuite Layout.
