In my current role as an underwriter in the public sector at Versicherungskammer Bayern, I am responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting risks in commercial and public property insurance. My duties include individual risk assessments, creating coverage concepts, and technical and financial evaluation of new and existing contracts, especially for municipalities, municipal institutions, and public clients.
I work closely with sales teams, brokers, and internal departments, providing expert support during the proposal process and contract drafting. I also contribute to risk-policy decisions and apply my know-how to improve internal processes.
A special focus is on digitizing and structuring risk assessment. In this context, I advocate for developing technical solutions that enable efficient, transparent, and standardized risk evaluation—an area I plan to expand on in the future.
At the same time, I am completing a part-time degree in technical underwriting for industrial property insurance to further build my professional expertise.
From 2020, I worked at Versicherungskammer Bayern in the private sector as a property insurance specialist. In this role, I handled complex technical issues with a focus on claims and policy matters in home and household contents insurance. I was also frequently involved in managing executive complaints and highly sensitive customer concerns, working closely with management and the complaints department.
Another key part of my role was training and supporting new employees: I was responsible for onboarding, technical training, and ongoing support in daily work. I also assisted management with reviewing and handling escalations and challenging customer cases.
In this position, I demonstrated both my technical depth and my strong communication skills and tact in dealing with demanding customer and complaint situations.
In this role, I managed complex customer issues and served as the central point of contact for colleagues with technical inquiries. Additionally, I was deeply involved in testing and implementing the new policy management system, “Faktor 10.” I coordinated technical tests, identified and documented error sources, and played a key role in rolling out the system for property and personal insurance. This allowed me to apply my skills bridging the business unit and IT.
Another focus of my work was training new employees: I created training materials, conducted onboarding sessions, and supported new colleagues in daily tasks—both technically and methodically.
My professional journey began in the field sales team at DEVK, where I gained over four years of comprehensive experience advising and supporting private customers. Afterwards, I moved to the internal service department and actively participated in testing and implementing a new IT system. This deepened my understanding of technical processes and strengthened my ability to bridge the gap between the business unit and IT.
Since 2020, I have been working at Versicherungskammer Bayern (VKB). There, I was initially assigned to the private insurance area, taking on responsible roles as a technical contact person, internal trainer, and training coordinator. My focus was on supporting colleagues professionally as well as developing workflows and training concepts.
I now work in underwriting, specializing in analyzing and assessing property risks for public-sector clients. I am particularly interested in developing technical solutions for efficient and transparent risk assessment in the commercial and industrial property insurance environment.
Alongside my job, I completed the insurance and finance specialist certification and am currently studying to become a technical underwriter for industrial property insurance.
I bring strong analytical skills, a sense of responsibility, and a structured, solution-oriented approach enhanced by deep technical knowledge, technical affinity, and a high level of teamwork.
