Major Accounts Underwriter

In my current role as an underwriter in the public sector at Versicherungskammer Bayern, I am responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting risks in commercial and public property insurance. My responsibilities include individual risk assessments, creating coverage concepts, and the technical and economic evaluation of new and existing policies, especially for municipalities, municipal institutions, and public clients.

I work closely with sales teams, brokers, and internal specialist departments, providing professional support in quotation processes and contract drafting. I also accompany risk policy decisions and contribute my expertise to the further development of internal processes.

A special focus is on digitizing and structuring risk assessment. In this context, I advocate for the development of technical solutions that enable efficient, transparent, and standardized risk evaluation – an area I plan to deepen further in the future.

At the same time, I am completing a part-time degree to become a technical underwriter for industrial property insurance to expand my professional expertise.

In this role, I was responsible for the technical processing of complex customer inquiries and served as the central point of contact for colleagues' technical questions. In addition, I was heavily involved in testing and implementing the new policy management system "Faktor 10". I coordinated functional tests, identified and documented error sources, and played a key role in the practical rollout of the system in the property and personal insurance area. In doing so, I was able to apply my interface skills between the business unit and IT in a targeted way.

Another key focus of my work was training new employees: I developed training materials, conducted onboarding sessions, and supported new colleagues in their daily work – both technically and methodically.
