Senior Android Engineer

I entered the Fintech filed by joining the core team that builds the framework which holds the base for all major products. The perspective of the code is completely different as there is no room for mistake in the backbone of all mobile products. Even though security and app stability are a must, I was pleased to see that the team was already keeping an eye on Android latest tech stack and some of them were already used. I am excited to work on products that exceed the mobile phones universe and I embrace the challenge of building flexible and robust applications while maintaining stability and security at maximum level.

I became a part of the Sliide's android development team as my first contract role. I met a really cool, diverse and dynamic team that welcomed me with opened arms. My integration process was as smooth and straightforward as possible. I really like the company's ambitions, goals and the overall continuous growth. Again, i was lucky enough to be able to use and experiment with top-notch technology regarding Android Development.

• Developed a range of projects, including SDKs and user-facing applications, showcasing strong versatility in Android engineering
• Successfully implemented entire features from inception to completion, demonstrating proficiency in delivering high-quality work
• Contributed expertise to firmware-level applications, contributing to the development of robust and efficient software systems
• Utilized MVVM and MVI design patterns to architect scalable and maintainable codebases, enhancing overall development efficiency
• Actively embraced emerging technologies by transitioning XML-based components to Jetpack Compose, driving innovation and improving app usability

I was being attracted to the development part wanting to know everything about the android framework. So i took development courses and asked for the change to the development side. I started by writing unit tests for some current features and slowly the difficulty of the tasks has increased. I worked on redesigning different features and creating others. I love the fact that I was able to experiment with different technologies from the early stages such as Coroutines, LiveData, different types of layouts etc. The main programming language was Kotlin.

I have contributed on several projects such as:

• Avira Antivirus 2021 -> different features redesign or creation using the MVVM architectural pattern and i have used LiveData, Coroutines, Room, OkHttp, ViewModel, Material Design Components etc.
• Avira Home Guard -> worked in the device discovery, networking protocols implementation
• SafeThings -> worked on the communication between the application and the router

I joined the QA Automation team and the chemistry was great, especially with the team being newly created. I created and maintained automation scripts for the automation framework using Python, Selenium and Saucelabs and collaborated directly with the development team. I started creating an automation framework for the mobile applications using Appium and Java.

During my time here i learned a lot about teamwork and responsibility and i discovered my passion for mobile platforms.
