Description
We are now looking to recruit an Interim Supply & Logistics Manager for 3-6 months (with significant Oil industry experience) to be based in Hamburg to oversee our Supply & Logistics operations.
The post holder will ensure our finished product inventories are managed effectively and delivered safely and cost-effectively to our clients.
This is a pivotal role within Prax’s growth and contributes to its horizontal integration and geographic expansion.
Supply activities include but not limited to: crude oil supply operations, replenishment planning, product scheduling, inventory management, primary and secondary transportation management as well as relationship management of key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing the company’s inventory and product balances.
- Produce weekly and monthly forecasts based on production levels and customer offtake volumes, and be able to foresee bottle necks or over-stocking at PCK/PCK associated assets and respond accordingly.
- Be the focal point between PCK and Prax on matters of inventory management, product movement reporting, asset utilisation and safety matters related to Prax leased rolling stock or Prax/customer road loading activities.
- Negotiation and securing of contracts with road hauliers, including Service Level Agreements and performance management.
- Negotiation and securing of contracts with rolling stock provider(s) and associated liaison with PCK on parking and maintenance agreements. Performance management and utilisation of rolling stock reporting.
- Negotiation and securing of contracts with rail traction provider(s) for the haulage of Prax leased rolling stock and the setting of plans to deliver to customers.
- Own the Prax management element of refinery wide evacuation of material undertaken on behalf of the asset.
- Overseeing the reporting of stock, product movements and forecast using Prax proprietary Software and the PCK VERA system used for all modes of despatch from the refinery and refinery associated assets.
- Ensure customer accounts and load IDs are loaded into the VERA system by the Logistics team members to ensure a seamless flow in every channel.
- Budgeting and cost control to optimise road and rail logistics provision, targeting lowest cost to serve.
- Monthly performance reporting to local leadership as well as Prax central teams.
- Line management for Logistics team members including target setting, training, professional development & mentoring.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with the Commercial organisation to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and be able to respond at pace to market opportunities.
- Develop internal controls and processes to manage operational risk appropriately.
Requirements
- Relevant Business/Commercial or Supply-Chain Degree.
- At least 5 years’ experience in team leadership.
- Minimum of 15 years of Oil industry-specific supply chain, refinery, optimisation experience.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to meet demanding deadlines, often with competing priorities.
- Ability to absorb complex information operational and produce accurate, intelligent analysis.
- Enjoys challenge and change.
- Excellent time management/organisational and multi-tasking skills.
- Flexible and adaptable in approach with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and also collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of matrix reporting work environments.
