Description
This is a transformation project aimed at taking over IT development services from an external provider. The project involves:
Evaluation of Options: The first step of this project will involve a careful examination of potential strategies. This includes an assessment of whether to insource the services or award them to another external provider. Various factors will be considered in this assessment such as cost-effectiveness, expertise, efficiency, and control over services.
Development of a Transformation Roadmap: Once a decision has been made regarding the sourcing strategy, a detailed transformation roadmap will be developed. This roadmap will outline all the steps necessary to successfully transition the IT development services from the current provider to the new arrangement. The roadmap will detail the roles and responsibilities, the timeline, key milestones, and potential challenges.
Requirements
Extensive Experience with Transformation Projects: Ideally, the consultant should have had prior experience leading similar transformation projects, particularly those involving insourcing. They should be adept at managing change and navigating the complexities that come with such transitions.
Project Management Experience: The consultant should have a strong background in managing and leading projects. They should be able to drive the project forward, coordinate various stakeholders, and ensure that milestones are met on time.
Experience with External Service Providers: The consultant should have experience working with projects that involve external service providers. They should be familiar with managing relationships with these providers and ensuring that the services provided meet the required standards.
Good Understanding of IT Services: The consultant must have a good understanding of IT services. They should understand how these services function, how they can be optimized, and what best practices are in the industry. This understanding will be critical in assessing the current state of IT development services and in planning the transition.
