Oracle Database and Cloud Administrator

• Provision and operation of Oracle databases within the agreed service levels.
• Storage administration using Oracle ASM feature.
• Oracle Grid Infrastructure and database patching.
• Ensure SLAs and operational KPIs are met, coordinating internal and external support during major incidents.
• Create and exercise reliable backup strategies and periodic restorations.
• Plan and execute migrations from non-multitenant to multitenant architectures and consolidate databases into multiple containers.
• Configure Oracle database authentication with Kerberos.
• Deploy and administer Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Flexible Server) including configuration, scaling, and high availability setup.
• Migrate on-premises PostgreSQL databases to Azure using pg_dump/pg_restore, pg_dumpall, and Azure Database Migration Service.
• Configure backup and point-in-time restore policies for compliance and recovery objectives.
• Implement monitoring and alerting with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and custom dashboards.
• Perform query performance tuning by analyzing execution plans, optimizing indexes, and adjusting parameters (work_mem, shared_buffers, autovacuum).
• Collaborate with developers to implement schema design improvements, partitioning, and connection pooling (PgBouncer) for scalability.

• Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting and recommend workarounds for all EDB and open-source PostgreSQL products.
• Collaborate with and mentor junior and mid-tier support engineers to triage issues, create reproducible test cases, file development requests, and offer patches when possible.
• Work with development teams, including core PostgreSQL community contributors, to identify bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for premium customers on priority engagements.

• Provide specialized DBA technical and functional assistance to Oracle customers worldwide.
• Troubleshoot and support highly complex technology and software application implementations.
• Manage and resolve customer service requests on Oracle products, contributing to proactive support activities.
• Own problem resolution and manage customer expectations throughout service request life-cycles according to global standards.
• Contribute to process and tool improvements and to knowledge management content (Metalink).
• Work with development on product improvement programs, including testing and beta programs.
• Operate in line with bug diagnosis and escalation guidelines.
• Participate in remote patching for Oracle Platinum customers (AM&R team).

• MTN Nigeria and Ghana: Migrations and upgrades of large databases to RAC and Exadata with minimal downtime, data compression using HCC.
• Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA Kenya): Cross-platform migrations of 30 core banking databases to SuperCluster.
• QNB Qatar: Migration of 8 databases to Exadata using various methods, TDE implementation.
• Vodafone Egypt: InfiniBand bond changes and Exadata cluster expansions, onsite support for large telecom databases, Exadata patching across EMEA customers.
• Ageas Portugal, Morrisons UK, Network Rail UK, MTN Côte d'Ivoire, Equity Bank Kenya, ADDC UAE, Etisalat UAE: Exadata and backup appliance configurations, high availability tests, replication and ODS solutions using GoldenGate and Veridata.
• Kuwait Finance House (KFH), HMC Qatar, EMasary Egypt, Qatar Central Bank (QCB): Advanced security, ASM reconfigurations, Oracle Audit Vault, Database Firewall implementations.

• Conduct Oracle technology training for clients such as Oracle GPS and Arab Construction Bank.
• Teach courses in Oracle SQL 10g, Oracle Database 9i Fundamentals 1 & 2, Oracle Database 10g Workshops 1 & 2, 10g New Features for Administrators, and Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control.
• Install and configure Oracle Application Server 10g on multiple platforms.
• Implement and configure Data Guard high availability solutions.
