Tax Accounting and reporting to the US
· Review and coordination of the quarterly and annual US corporate tax reporting for the German entities and reporting to the US tax department.
· Review and coordination of the annual current and deferred corporate tax provision for the German entities and coordination of tasks with external tax advisors. Reporting to the US tax department. Support the US tax department with the statutory audit of the European tax provision.
Transfer pricing
· Coordination of transfer pricing matters, in particular: assist the German entities with all general and exceptional documentation matters.
· Work with the German entities on transfer pricing matters resulting from intercompany transactions or restructurings, prepare reportings and specific calculations. Coordinate transfer pricing matters with US and international tax department.
Tax audits
· Assist the German entities with external corporate tax audits matters, i.e., communicate with tax authorities, coordinate information flow between entities and tax auditor and respond to tax audit questions.
· Review tax audit reports and assessment notices following the tax audit and report tax audit results to the US tax department.
· Review tax calculations and tax returns prepared by the tax advisor and support German entities in all day to day tax matters.
· Assist with intercompany transactions and restructurings from a corporate tax point of view.
· Assist with M&A transaction.
· Assist with the integration of acquired entities from a tax point of view.
· Monitor cash tax payments and coordinate with treasury the tax payments.
· Coordinate the R&D project with external tax advisor and internal R&D personnel.
· Support SOX and substantive external audit reviews to ensure compliance.
· Coordination of tax calculations with external tax advisors and statutory auditors.
· Contact person for any tax matters for authorities, external advisors and colleagues.
· 5 to 7 years of relevant, professional working experience in a public accounting firm or in a multinational company. Excellent knowledge and experience with German and European corporate related tax matters (international tax experience). Knowledge in VAT related matters.
· University degree in Taxes, Finance, Accounting or Economics. Qualification as German tax advisor (Steuerberater) desired.
· Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.
· Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment independently.
· Team player.
· Fluency in English and German is essential. Other European languages are appreciated.
