  • Special challenges: integration of hardware and software components from different manufacturers. Working under time pressure during on-site commissioning. Ensuring functional machine safety (safety PLC) according to standards (e.g. ISO 13849-1).
  • Deliverables: operational, fully documented PLC programs, final HMI projects, signed commissioning and acceptance protocols, creation or addition of operating manuals.
  • Best practices: structured programming according to standards (e.g. IEC 61131-3), modular and reusable software blocks, consistent versioning of code (e.g. in Git).

Requirements

  • Completed training as a state-certified technician, a degree in electrical engineering/automation technology or comparable qualification.
  • Several years of solid professional experience in PLC programming with Siemens SIMATIC S7 (TIA Portal) and/or CODESYS V3.
  • Practical experience in commissioning machines and plants, including knowledge of common fieldbus systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for commissioning phases.
  • Personality: strong analytical and problem-solving skills, independent and structured work style, "hands-on" mentality.
  • Must-haves: expertise in TIA Portal or CODESYS, commissioning experience.
  • Nice-to-haves: knowledge of safety PLC programming (e.g. F-CPU), experience with drive technology (e.g. SEW, Siemens) or robotics (KUKA, ABB).
