Description
The client wants to document and plan the physical cable routes, corridors, and lines of a typical former telecommunications monopoly on the ESRI platform. They need to map various technologies: copper, fiber optics, and hybrid network structures. The ideal candidate is a consultant who has already developed or designed such systems several times and knows most of the pitfalls from experience. This is not about a "simple" pure fiber network, but about complex structures involving different technologies. The consultant should prevent the internal development team from repeating mistakes others have already made. This saves time by guiding the team to "best practices." For example: the client wants to create a custom model for depicting nested cable structures. If a cable corridor is in concrete, it should be shown differently than a cable in a sandy conduit. This data is not stored in the ESRI database but kept externally (MS SQL Server). The consulting should speed up the process of making the most of this data. Note: this is not consulting on third-party or plug-in ESRI-based products. The client wants to avoid the licensing costs of those products and build a custom system tailored specifically to their needs. Environment: the client uses a .NET environment with BLAZOR. Development is based on the ArcGIS SDK, and web functionality is implemented in JavaScript. MS SQL Server serves as the database. - Challenge the development team's ideas and contribute own implementation ideas (questions range from platform installation and usage to developer concepts)
- Take on responsibility as an independent ESRI consultant (not a developer)
Requirements
- Deep expertise and experience in documenting and planning telecommunications networks
- Many years of experience with ESRI tools (5-10 years)
- Excellent consulting skills
- Occasional availability at the client's request (not a full-time project)
